Sometimes in summer, a stifling air mass stalls over our area, blocking breezes and heating things up. The authorities might issue a “respiratory alert” and ask citizens to stop grilling outdoors and using lawn mowers temporarily. Why lawn mowers? Because, minute-for-minute, they spew more pollutants than cars and trucks. Amazingly, a typical 3.5 horsepower gas mower emits the same amount of smog-producing pollution in one hour as a new car driven 340 miles!

But not Carbon Zero cordless electric mowers. We use only solar-charged, electric mowers, cordless blowers and trimmers. Our vehicles are equipped with Kyocera photovoltaic cells – or PVCs – to generate 120 volts of clean, solar electricity and charge all the batteries in our mowers and cordless equipment, saving what isn’t used in deep-cell, heavy-duty gel. We even use highly efficient, self-propelled, rotary lawn mowers for some jobs.

Since Detroit hasn’t come up with a commercially viable electric truck yet, Carbon Zero Lawn Care contributes to carbon offset programs.
